The Badges

What the Badges Mean

Every listing on Triad Trusted carries one of two badges, so you always know how much we have checked.

Verified

We checked it ourselves

We visited and verified the business in person, or the owner verified the profile with us. We confirm the details directly with the business, not scraped from the internet.

Not Yet Verified

Listed from public research

The business is listed from public information, such as its own website and public listings. We have not verified it yet.

Hours, prices, and services can change, so check with the business before you go.

The Process

How a Business Gets Listed

  1. It starts local. Every listing starts with a local nomination or a real track record in the community. We focus on independent businesses across the Triad.
  2. We research it. We gather the basics from public sources: what the business does, where it is, how to reach it, and its Google rating. New listings start as Not Yet Verified.
  3. We verify it. When we visit in person, or the owner confirms the profile with us, the listing earns the Verified badge.
  4. Some get a Spotlight. Many businesses sit down with us on camera, so you can meet them before you call. Those stories appear on our Spotlights page.
Our Rules

How We Stay Independent

  • Listings are not paid reviews. Sponsored placements are always labeled.
  • Zero pay to play. Paying never buys a Verified badge or a good review. Verification is earned only by an in-person visit or owner verification.
  • Ratings come from Google. Star ratings and review counts on our listings are from Google reviews, and each page notes when they were last checked.
  • Links go to independent organizations. Triad Trusted is not affiliated with them unless noted.

Every listing starts with a local nomination or a real track record in the community. We focus on independent, locally owned businesses, and we gather the basics from public sources before a listing goes up.

What does Verified mean?

Verified means we visited and verified the business in person, or the owner verified the profile with us. Not Yet Verified means the business is listed from public information and we have not verified it yet.

How does a business get verified?

If you own a listed business, get in touch through For Businesses and confirm your details with us. We may also visit in person. Either way, the listing earns the Verified badge.

How do I nominate a business?

Use the nomination form at the bottom of this page, or on any category page. Tell us who they are, their town, and why you trust them. We will reach out, verify them, and maybe feature them in a Spotlight.

What are Spotlights?

Spotlights are in-depth stories about local businesses our neighbors recommend, often with a video of the owner. Spotlights are currently available through our founder special. Reach out to learn more at [email protected]. A Spotlight never buys a Verified badge or a good review. You can see the current Spotlights.

Does it cost anything to be listed?

No. Listings and Features are free, with zero hidden listing fees. Not Yet Verified listings are free public-research listings. Listings are not paid reviews, and any sponsored placement is always labeled.
